Location and Facilities

Located in the College Park building, the Department of Communications at California State University, Fullerton maintains photo labs, technologically advanced television and film facilities, including a digital, non-linear editing lab and both PC and Macintosh computer labs. The university's computing resources are enhanced by the Social Science Research Center, which provides program evaluation, public opinion, survey and statistical analysis research opportunities.

The university library facility, which doubled in size in 1996 with the addition of a new wing, provides more than two and one-half million items to support graduate study and research. The reference section houses electronic CD-ROM data bases that provide a wide range of both in-house and on-line services, such as LEXIS/NEXIS.

The university is part of the 23-campus California State University system, the largest in the U.S. The university enrolls approximately 29,000 students with diverse ethnic backgrounds. We are proud that our extensive curriculum includes 55 undergraduate majors and 50 graduate degrees.

Our 225-acre campus lies in coastal Southern California's Orange county, 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The area is part of one of the largest media markets and a major center of the entertainment industry. Sunny beaches dot the shores of the Pacific Ocean, sailing and windsurfing take place in bays and harbors, and mountain resorts boast of some of the finest skiing facilities. Recreation and cultural resources abound in one of Southern California’s most attractive areas.

Our department is one of the largest in the western United States, and one of the three largest in the nation. We are located in the center of the nation’s second largest media market and at the hub of television and film production.
