Melissa Allen

Melissa G. Allen began her higher education at Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA.  There she obtained her Associate of the Arts degree in two years.  She promptly transferred to obtain her Bachelor of the Arts degree, with an emphasis in Public Relations.  In the spring of 2003 she was a member of the Comm Week task force.

Her main duty was to work with Mr. Tom Franklin, the man who took the world famous 9/11 flag raising photograph.  She was in charge of his airport pick up/drop off schedule hotel accommodations, photo presentations, photo signings, and dinner/dessert receptions.  She will be graduating in May of 2004 with honors.  She was competitive in the Track and Field program for two years at Cerritos and another two at CSUF.

She was able to balance at all times a full load of classes, track practice, weight lifting, track meets out of town, and work on weekends, yet still maintains a social life with friends and family.  In 2001 she was a California State Champion in the 4x400 meter relay which shows she is a hard worker and is dedicated to excellence.  She has worked at Candlewood Country Club for six years.  There she has life guarded, bussed, temped as a secretary, and currently is serving.

She has developed and maintained relationships with the 350+ member clientele.  She is able to deal with their very different personality types and age groups, work through problems that arise so that all parties involved are helped to satisfaction, as well as remember everyone's personal quirks and favorites regarding their food and beverage choice and personal life.

She currently is serving on the Comm Week 2004 task force as a member of the executive board.  Melissa G. Allen is a well rounded and hardworking individual who will take on any task at hand and work to her best ability to complete it into a winning outcome.
