Chief Michael Messina, Brea Police Dept.

Michael Messina Chief Michael Messina is a 34-year veteran of the Brea Police Department, and he began his career with the Brea Police Department in 1974 as a cadet.

He became Chief of Police in 2002 and has served as president of the Orange County Chiefs of Police and Sheriffs Assoc. Chief Messina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton and a Master’s Degree in Management from Claremont Graduate University’s Peter F. Drucker School of Management.

In addition, he is a graduate of California’s Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Command College. He has been an Adjunct Professor in the Masters in Leadership program at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. a professor in the Public Administration and Criminal Justice department at Cal State Fullerton and is a frequent guest lecturer at various colleges and universities.

Chief Messina also works as a consultant to both public and private sector organizations with emphasis on organizational change and effectiveness.
