BOB ENGELS is a writer/producer/director.  Currently, he’s creating two TV series - The Gatekeeper and Capozzola’s Law - along with directing the movieKillwinning Hotel.  He’s the creator of The Forbidden Jungle for Triangle Entertainment and Rancho Mirage for ABC. 

Engels was the Executive Producer of Andromeda, still one of the top rated syndicated TV shows in the world.  TV credits are Twin Peaks, Wiseguy, and the classic situation comedy, On the Air - three of the "100 Best Series Ever" according to the AFI.  A Golden Globe and Saturn winner, Engels has executive produced/written/developed series with Steven Spielberg, David Lynch and David Fincher.  He collaborated on numerous scripts with Lynch including Fire Walk With Me and the legendary, Dream of the Bovine.

Engels has written scripts for Disney, Warners, Universal, Paramount and Fox.  He wrote and co-produced Murder in Small Town X for Fox TV - an experimental mix of script and reality programming.  Other executive producer/writer TV credits include Matthew Blackheart - that he created for Syfy, GvsE,SeaQuest, and Sirens.  He created the first completely interactive Network quality series for Warners TV called Techno 3.

Engels has directed plays on Broadway, Off Broadway, and in Los Angeles.  He’s directed at the Louisville Actors Theatre and the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, where he was one of the founders of their Second Stage. In Scotland his production of The Paranormal Review won the Fringe Award for which he also composed the music.  He’s the recipient of the Bush Fellowship in Theatre.
