Students usually begin the assessment process in their first semester of graduate education and continue until they have achieved their degree and met the academic and clinical practicum requirements for the CCC-SLP. Assessment of knowledge takes place in HCOM 501, which is taken during the first semester of the graduate program, and in specific examination periods that occur twice year. Assessment of skills takes place in students' clinical practicum courses and, to a limited extent, in HCOM 501.
