Writer Workshop, Thomas French
thomas french commweek logo

Thomas French has been a staff writer at St. Petersburg Times for 25 years. He was a narrative project writer, specializing in book-length stories.

In 1998, he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for "Angels & Demons," a seven-part serial that chronicled a mother and her daughters who were murdered in Tampa Bay. Other projects are "13," a series about the secret lives of seventh-graders, and "The Exorcist in Love," a story about a mother exploring the paranormal.

Recently, he was on a team that worked on "The Hard Road," a series about the case of an elementary schoolteacher accused in a fatal hit-and-run.

French will speak at this year’s National Writer’s Workshop at Cal State Fullerton, on Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration for this one-day event, which includes lunch, is $50. There are student and professional discounts.
