Henry Alfaro, Award-Winning Newscaster

Henry Alfaro, an award-winning newscaster, joined the "Eyewitness News" team in June, l970. Henry's distinguished news career has earned him many honors for his reporting including five Golden Mike Awards, four Emmys and being nominated for the coveted Peabody Award.

Alfaro will speak at 1 and 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in the Titan Student Union. The event is sponsored by Communications Week. Throughout his years working in the Southern California area, Alfaro was recognized for his many contributions to the Mexican American and Latino communities.

Alfaro is a recipient of the famed Eagle Award for excellence in the field of television reporting by Nosotros and was named the top Chicano newsman in Southern California by the California Association of Latinos in Broadcasting.

Alfaro also was named one of the top one hundred influential Latinos in the United States by Hispanic Magazine.
