For the third year in a row, the
CSUF team competing in the American Advertising
Federation’s National Student Advertising
Competition has placed among the top three schools
in District 15 competition. Held on CSUF’s
home turf on April 25, teams from Cal State San
Diego, The Art Institute of San Diego, Colombia
College, USC, UCLA, Pepperdine, Otis College of
Design, Chapman University and CSUF presented
their recommendation for Yahoo!’s first-ever
entry into the teen population.
The NSAC is the premier student advertising competition
in the world, with more than 220 universities
participating. Each year the AAF works with a
national client to provide student-run advertising
agencies with a “real world” experience.
This year the client was Yahoo!
Functioning as a full-service advertising agency,
the CSUF team developed a national Integrated
Marketing Communications (IMC) program including
national advertising, powerful teen-oriented sales
promotions, public relations and a unique viral
component. In addition to the formal presentation,
the team produced a thirty two page plans book
detailing its all of the campaign’s component
parts.
This year’s team was hand picked after
an extensive interview process designed to identify
students who have both talent and interest in
creative development, media planning, research,
sales promotion and interactive communications.
Since nearly every member of last year’s
team is now employed at major advertising agencies,
this year’s team has good reason to smile.
These students are tomorrow’s stars and
it is safe to say that most of them will be full
time members of the advertising agency community
within the next few months.

in this fantastic opportunity? How to audition
