To help us assist you most efficiently, do not send duplicate messages to multiple e-mails/advisors.

Email [email protected] with your CWID (campus-wide ID number), first and last name, and major. E-mailing from your CSUF student e-mail account is strongly preferred. Please be as detailed as possible with your questions; an advisor will respond to you within 1-3 business days (3-4 days during peak times).

Advising Updates | Fall 2026

Undergraduate advising services are facilitated virtually through virtual or in-person advising appointments, drop-in advising hours, and by e-mail.

Office Closure Notification:
The College of Communications Student Success Center will be closed on Fri., Sept. 18 due to a staff retreat; we will not be holding Friday virtual drop-in advising hours on that date.

In-Person (15-minute) Drop-in Advising Hours (CP-210)

  • Mondays: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Drop-in advising periods may fill before the end of the published advising hours; we recommend arriving at the start of the posted times.

Virtual (15-Minute) Drop-In Advising Hours (Zoom)

  • Tuesdays: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
  • Fridays: 9:00 am - 11:00 am

You must be logged into your CSUF Zoom account/portal to access the meeting.

How it works:

  • You will enter the waiting room before before you join the meeting (via a virtual "front desk") for check-in.
  • A staff member will greet you and ask for your name, CWID, and major to check you in.
  • You will be placed in a breakout room; an advisor will join the room to assist you soon.

Pre-scheduled (25-Minute) Advising Appointments (Zoom and In-Person)

  • You can schedule a 25-minute pre-scheduled advising appointment up to two weeks in advance. If you do not see appointment availability, that means all available appointments are booked at that moment. Keep checking back the following morning and throughout the day; new openings may become available each business day.
  • Pre-scheduled appointment timeslots are shown in 30-minute increments; however, they are 25-minute appointments (for our advisors to have a few minutes in-between back-to-back appointments). (Note: Academic notice advising appointments are 45 minutes.)
  • If you are unable to make your scheduled advising session, please cancel your appointment through TitanNet (Portal > Student Homepage > TitanNet Student). If you cannot cancel your appointment online, please e-mail us at [email protected] with your name, CWID, date and time of appointment.
