On February 18, 2017, Joseph Fontana and Joseph Leung, presented their research study, “The Influences of Coach’s Communication Style on Team Sports Players,” at the Western States Communication Association’s 2017 Undergraduate Scholars Research Conference (USRC) held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Their paper was competitively selected from over a hundred submissions. Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, an assistant professor from the Department of Human Communication Studies at Cal State Fullerton, was the advisor on this project. The research manuscript was a product of her class, HCOM308 Quantitative Research Methods.

“The USRC is an extraordinary opportunity for undergraduate scholars and researchers to showcase their work and receive feedback from experienced scholars. Undergraduate students benefit from participating in the research conference by crafting and sharing a professional presentation, meeting other undergraduate scholars in the field, and learning about graduate studies in Communication. The conference concludes with an awards ceremony.”
