Hailing from the mythical land of San Diego, Francisco Paredes knew from the humble age of 7 that he wanted to one day work in animation. He initially entered Cal State Fullerton as an Art major with an emphasis in Illustration until his heart took him down a different path and he realized his true passion was in Screenwriting. After switching majors from Art to Radio-TV-Film (and most assuredly giving his parents a heart attack for tacking on 3 more years of college tuition!) Francisco ultimately graduated with a degree in RTVF and a Minor in Illustration. During his time at CSUF, he was blessed enough to intern at both Nickelodeon Animation Studios and Paramount Pictures, the former of which led to his first job as a Production Assistant on the show   Breadwinners. With the goal of being a writer ever present in his mind, Francisco humbly learned as much as he could about the industry from his peers and worked his way up from a Production Assistant to a Script Coordinator until he finally got promoted to a Staff Writer on the Nick Jr. show,   Shimmer and Shine, where he presently resides. Aside from his day job, he has also gone on to write for several other shows and projects in development at Nickelodeon, Disney, and Warner Bros.

When he’s not writing, Francisco is also an avid anime enthusiast, a lover of comic books and Australian podcasts about said comic books, and a   Sonic the Hedgehog   apologist.
