Hugo is a 29-year veteran of the Los Angeles Times. He started as an intern and worked his way up to a staff writer in the Business Section. During his tenure at the newspaper, Martin has been part of the Metro staff that won the Pulitzer in 1993 for the paper’s coverage of the Los Angeles Riots. He was also part of the staff that won the Pulitzer in 1995 for coverage of the Northridge Earthquake and the 1998 Pulitzer for coverage of the botched North Hollywood bank robbery. Martin has covered local politics, travel, crime and business.
