Tell us a little bit about what you’re doing now, and how you landed this position.
I am currently working at Telemundo Oklahoma in Oklahoma City as a Sports Reporter/Anchor/Producer.
Inez knew the producer and advised me to reach out to him. When I did, he recommended me to apply for an assignment desk position that had just opened up. The position had room for growth, and I applied immediately.
After one month of employment, I was given the chance to be a news reporter, and most recently a sports reporter.
What advice would you give to current LCI members?
Meet and greet people in the industry whenever possible. Maintain a positive attitude when you network, and make sure every contact you make remembers you. You never know if someone will help you get your first job after college.
Also, be confident of who you are, and of your work.
