Dr. Henry Puente is an Associate Professor of Communications. His research areas includes examining U.S. Latino films, U.S. Latino media outlets, and race/ethnicity.
Puente has extensive experience within entertainment industry. He has worked in special events, radio, television, newspaper sales, and film distribution.
Puente has published a book entitled "The Promotion and Distribution of U.S. Latino Films." He also has published journal articles in Bilingual Review and Studies in Hispanic Cinemas. He lastly has contributed to five different books like Images that Injure: Pictorial stereotypes in the media and Contemporary Latina/o media: production, circulation, politics.
Puente grew up in Azusa, California and attended Gladstone High School. He loves to travel and has been all over the United States, Latin America, and Europe. In his free time, during the winter, he coaches a high school wrestling team.
He joined CSU Fullerton in 2006 and has taught a wide variety of courses like Introduction to Entertainment & Tourism and Entertainment & Society. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, a MA in Communication Management from U.S.C., and BA in Radio-Television-Film from CSU Fullerton.
