Faculty Biography: Dr. Weir-Mayta received his doctoral degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Washington. Prior to returning for his doctoral training, he practiced as a medical SLP for 14 years treating patients across the lifespan. His lines of research focus on: 1) the coginitive and motor processes that contribute to speech production and speech motor learning in healthy adults and individuals with Parkinson and cerebellar disease, and 2) incorporating Inter-Proffessional Education (IPE) in graduate training programs.
