Supporting Faculty International Interests And Initiatives

The Maxwell Center for International Communications develops, assists, and supports faculty exchange programs with the College’s partner universities and supports the College’s faculty members in creating and disseminating research and teaching materials on international topics. It also works with faculty to build opportunities for international collaboration through conferences and/or workshops.

International Faculty Opportunities

If you are a member of the faculty in the College of Communications and would like to teach abroad, develop an international educational opportunity for students, develop a workshop or a conference please contact Director Dr. Dean Kazoleas at dkazoleas@fullerton.edu to discuss available opportunities or to obtain support.

NEW!! The Maxwell Center for International Communications is currently working on creating faculty exchanges with universities in Latin America and also in Asia. Specifically, at this point, we are gathering information to find out which faculty members might have an interest and/or the ability to teach in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

The Fulbright Program and Fulbright Senior Specialists Program

The Maxwell Center also encourages faculty to consider applying for the Fulbright International Educational Exchange program, which supports teaching and research programs that usually range from a semester to one year in length. Information can be found on the Fulbright Program. Additionally, if shorter term projects are desired faculty should consider the Fulbright Senior Specialists program. Information on this program can be found at http://www.cies.org

Inviting Visiting Faculty

If you would like to invite a visiting scholar to the Cal State Fullerton, please be aware of the procedures described at: http://international.fullerton.edu/faculty-staff/visiting-scholars.

Building International Experiences For Students

Many faculty feel that its too difficult to build an international experience or build an international experience into a course. There are actually many options for designing study abroad programs or building an international experience into a course. The graphic below provides a few examples of different "internationalization" options. The Maxwell Center can help faculty explore these options, design experiences, and promote new programs.
