Gene Park

Gene Park (2003, Communications/Journalism) Gene Park is a social media editor at The Washington Post. He was assistant news and entertainment editor of The Daily Titan (2002-2003). While a Titan, he interned at The Orange County Register and San Gabriel Valley Tribune. After graduating, Gene returned to his home island of Guam to work as assistant news editor for The Pacific Daily News. In 2006, he joined The Honolulu Star-Bulletin as a crime reporter. After being laid off during the Great Recession, he was hired back as a digital producer months before the merger of Honolulu's two metro newspapers. He later joined eBay founder Pierre Omidyar's Civil Beat, an investigative news startup, becoming Hawaii's first social media editor. He is currently president of the Asian American Journalists Association in Washington and is a CSUF donor.
