STUDENT JOURNALISM SYMPOSIUM
The College of Communications’ Student Journalism Symposium on Covering Elections (Sept. 19) drew students and faculty from across the state, with more than 100 people tuning in live on a Saturday morning. The event featured a keynote by Matt Hall , national president of the Society of Professional Journalists, whose Q&A was moderated by student Cameron Winston (COMM), founder of the CSUF chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. The second hour featured a professional panel with Arit John (Los Angeles Times), CSUF alumna Laura Barrón-López (POLITICO), Quinn Owen (ABC News), and COMM alumna Vania Patino (CBS/KFDA10). Comm week 2022
Comm Week is back in-person at the Titan Student Union! The 44th annual Comm Week conference is from April 25th through April 29th and will host professional guest speakers, from a variety of communications industries, who will discuss their expertise with you. This conference is a great opportunity to build your network and learn more about potential career options. Once again, Comm Week is April 25th through the 29th at the Titan Student Union. 2022 COMMENCEMENT STUDENT SPEAKER
You are invited to apply to be our student commencement speaker for the College of Communications Ceremony!
You must be a graduate from Fall 2021, Spring 2022, or Summer 2022 and have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Applications are due on Friday, April 29th at 5:00pm PST.
The application must include the speech that you will give at the commencement, if chosen. Speech must be approximately 700 words.
