DEPARTMENT MESSAGE

Situated in the backyard of Hollywood the Department of Cinema and Television Arts (CTVA, formerly Radio-TV-Film) offers a B.A. in CTVA, a Minor in CTVA and Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Screenwriting. Undergraduates can choose from a variety of courses in production, screenwriting, critical studies and industry management. The department serves approximately 700 majors with 30 full- and part-time faculty. The M.F.A. program has an enrollment of approximately 30 students and targets those who desire a professionally-oriented education and training in screenwriting for film and television. CTVA undergraduates all participate in an internship program that allows for credit in up to two internships. Almost all of the students intern at the major studios, networks and production companies.
