Shuttering

ABOUT STUTTERING

Stuttering is a universal communication disorder involving disruptions in the forward flow of speech. These disruptions are moments when the person has difficulty getting words out and may be accompanied by signs of struggle and tension. The severity can range from mild to severe and the typical age of onset is between 2-4 years of age. Stuttering varies across situations and is very cyclical. Early intervention is vital and studies show that if children at risk for stuttering receive appropriate therapy at an early age, there is a better chance that they will not become adults who stutter.
