Reeman Marzouqah, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, SLP (C), joined California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in the Fall of 2024 as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dr. Marzouqah earned her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (UofT) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. During her time at UofT, she was a lab member of the Speech Production Lab, where she researched upper airway exercises for stroke patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Her research contributions have resulted in various peer-reviewed journal publications and several competitive awards. She was also engaged with the community through outreach activities and media interviews. Following her Ph.D., Dr. Marzouqah was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship in stroke neurology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Her current research focuses on upper airway dysfunctions affected by neurological conditions.

Research Area

  1. Explore how upper airway dysfunctions influence each other. 
  2. Investigate the effect of exercise training on upper airway function.
  3. Develop novel outcome measures for upper airway function.
