Amber Chitty (Wilson) joined the faculty of California State University, Fullerton in 2016 to manage the internship program for the Department of Communications. She teaches COMM 495T, a High Impact Practice course that integrates theory with practice through a 120-hour supervised field experience. She also oversees the internship programs for Cinema & Television Arts and Human Communication Studies, while building employer relationships and expanding internship opportunities for CSUF students.
Prior to CSUF, Ms. Chitty was based at the CSU Office of the Chancellor where she managed the Media Internship Program for what is now the CSU Entertainment Alliance. In this role she supported students and recent graduates from every CSU campus while simultaneously spearheading development of a 23-campus database of entertainment and media-related internships.
Early in her career, Amber spent 10 years in business development and pharmaceutical sales with Procter & Gamble, taught within the Long Beach Unified School District, and served as managing director of Rising TIDE, a non-profit education organization teaching academic strategies and life skills to at-risk youth.
In 2011 Ms. Chitty added entrepreneur to her resume by launching Bliss 525, a restaurant, private event space and live music venue in Long Beach, CA. There, she managed every piece of the business from operations, human resources, marketing and public relations to event planning, budgeting, training and development.
With experience in education, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, hospitality and healthcare, Ms. Chitty takes pride in equipping CSUF students with the tools to thrive in the changing workforce.
