Storyteller and academic, Carolyn Coal is an award-winning writer and director with a portfolio in film and advertising who began her career in television and music video production. As a copywriter, at GSD&M Advertising in Austin, she spearheaded an emerging media unit developing concepts for branded content and directed corporate videos. Returning to film and television, Coal produced multiple behind-the-scenes and First Look projects for major studios. In addition to her work in film and advertising, Coal has taught Communications and Film Studies at Emerson College, Chapman University, and Cal State University Fullerton where she is a tenured Professor.
