Required Internship Orientation for COMM Students

Virtual Internship Orientations will be held on Friday, April 15 and Monday, May 9

Are you planning to complete an internship before the end of 2022?

Internships are required for all Communication (COMM) majors. The mandatory Internship Orientation must be completed to enroll in COMM 495. It is recommended students complete the orientation at least six months (up to one year) prior to the internship semester.

To enroll in an internship, students must complete all prerequisites: Declare a major/concentration, junior or senior status (60+ units), have a 2.25 cumulative GPA, and attend the Internship Orientation.

Virtual Internship Orientations will be held on Friday, April 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Monday, May 9th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

During the two-hour orientation you will learn tips for your internship search, what types of positions qualify as “academic,” how the company and site approval process works, and receive an overview of the assignments required during the semester.

To register for a virtual Internship Orientation, please RSVPOpens in new window .
