LCI to hold virtual commencement

The Latino Communications Institute will recognize their graduating seniors in a virtual ceremony.

The Latino Communications Institute will hold a virtual graduation for their members. The commencement is scheduled for May 21 at 7:00 p.m. which was the original commencement date for Communication majors.

"We want to recognize the graduates in a small way and give them the opportunity to say a few words to their parents and/or loved ones," says LCI Director Inez González Perezchica. "We understand what graduation represents, especially for first-generation college students. Some students are the first in their family to graduate from college. Graduation represents the hopes and dreams for an entire family. We know this virtual celebration won't take the place of commencement, but we want to create a space to help the graduates and their families celebrate."

There are approximately 16 students in LCI that will be recognized in this virutal ceremony.
