On October 13th, CSUF’s Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) hosted an event called Midterm Mindfulness. The event allowed space for those stressed and working hard on all their assignments. During the event, the AAJA members and those who attended talked about their busy schedules and how much they dread having deadlines. Having these open conversations with one another helped show they weren’t alone in their feelings.
Those who attended took a break from all their studying and work, played board games, and put together puzzles. They got to enjoy coffee, tea, and cookies while working on journaling prompts that AAJA provided for attendees to focus on mental health. This was their first time hosting this event, but they see themselves doing it again in the future.
