On Mar. 1, Cal State Fullerton’s chapter of Asian American Journalism Association (AAJA) held its second general meeting, where they had a journaling event in the Titan Student Union.
Mahealani Wu, AAJA’s president, led Pen for Your Thoughts, guiding students through journaling prompts. After receiving free pens, sandwiches and water, Wu had students write about their personal experiences, such as a note to their younger self who had just graduated from high school.
AAJA held Pen for Your Thoughts to create deeper connections with their members while providing a safe space to release their stress. After five minutes of journal writing, AAJA allowed students to read their responses to the group if they felt comfortable.
