Cal State Fullerton’s chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) had the opportunity to have brunch and learn more about the public relations (PR) community at Reveille.

PRSSA chapters from Vanguard University, Long Beach State, Chapman University, Biola University and CSUF collaborated to put the brunch together at Reveille headquarters in Costa Mesa on Mar. 10.

Reveille is a California-based marketing and public relations agency. Vanguard’s chapter reached out to CSUF’s PRSSA and invited them to collaborate on the event.

After brunch, students were given a tour of the agency and sat for a presentation about the current state of PR and marketing from CSUF alum, Matt Prince.

Prince, the director of marketing, PR and communications at Taco Bell, gave his presentation on how the younger generation, Gen Z, is transforming the PR industry.

“Learning how media has had a great [effect] on Gen Z and how companies have to be proactive on researching consumers behavior is applicable for the future of every PR professional,” said Stacy Arriaza, vice president of outreach for CSUF’s PRSSA.

Finding how to reach Gen Z through audience research and understanding how PR is constantly evolving were important parts many learned from during the event.

CSUF’s PRSSA plans on having more events like this so students can network and become more confident in their future career.

Arriaza said the chapter is thankful for being part of the collaboration and for the opportunity to receive a presentation from Prince.
