CICC: Just Treats, No Tricks

On Monday, Oct. 30, Cal State Fullerton’s Communications Inter-Club Council (CICC) hosted its first Halloween Social, which took place at College Park, room 250 from 6:30-7:15 p.m.

The event aimed to socialize students with one another and to meet the 2023-2024 executive board; it was also another way to decrease stress from Monday classes.

Unfortunately, CICC Chair Ruaa Labanieh could not attend. However, the rest of the CICC board was able to attend and moderate.

CICC started their event by providing the tables of students with cookie decorating supplies so students could create spooky and fun cookies. Two of the students who attended were from majors outside of communications; one studies psychology and the other sociology but attended the event for the love sugars and Halloween celebrations.

Along with the students, the Dean of the College of Communications, Bey-Ling Sha, came to the event and participated in decorating cookies. Sha shared her insights on history, facts and courses offered by the College of Communications.

The executive board could not resist and joined the group, creating fun cookies with the rest of the group and conversing with one another.

Students were overjoyed to be able to participate after a very long day of lectures. This event ended up being a good exercise to deal with stress, whether from school or personal life–– or both–– and a great way to let creativity run wild.

As the night ended and students packed their bags, joyous conversations continued. And do not worry, with all of the packing, their handcrafted cookies were unharmed–– until eaten, that is.
